61st CHIZAI (IP) Seminar

NEDO Silicon Valley hosted an in-person IP seminar titled “Recent Key Court Decisions in Patent Cases and Their Practical Implications” as part of the Bay Area CHIZAI (IP) Seminar Series.

Presenter:

Naoki Yoshida, Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP

Keeping up with key court decisions is essential for all IP experts as it will affect the value of a patent, from the very beginning of patent prosecution.

In this CHIZAI (IP) seminar, we were delighted to have Naoki Yoshida, who delivered a presentation to share his valuable insights into key Standard Essential Patent (SEP) decisions globally. He also examined the extraterritorial reach of patents, highlighting the recent Japanese Supreme Court decision involving network system and program patents, and comparing it with U.S. court precedents.

Following the presentation, we engaged in an interactive discussion with attendees, where they shared their perspectives on practical implications and recent trends—an inspiring embodiment of CHIZAI culture!

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our exceptional speaker and extend warm thanks to all attendees.

We look forward to welcoming you to our next event!
